Guitar Hero On Tour: Decades allows gamers to unleash their inner rockstar anytime, anywhere and for the first time ever share their music with friends as they embark on a tour through the decades of rock. Compatible with the smash hit Guitar Hero: On Tour, the game leverages the technology of its predecessor and expands the experience with a new progression taking players on a musical journey from the classics of the 1970’s through today's greatest hits. With a new library of music, characters and venues, the game delivers a portable way for gamers to unleash their inner rockstars while playing through the history of rock 'n' roll.

This version of the Guitar Hero: On Tour -- Decades is for those who already own the first GH: On Tour. Just plug in your Guitar Hero DS controller and kick out the jams!

Guitar Hero On Tour

Guitar Hero: On Tour is a series of music video games based on the Guitar Hero series for the Nintendo DS handheld game system. The series is developed by Vicarious Visions and distributed by RedOctane and Activision. Two games in the series have already been released, Guitar Hero: On Tour and Guitar Hero On Tour: Decades, while a third entry, Guitar Hero On Tour: Modern Hits will be released in June 2009.

As with other games in the Guitar Hero series, the player is challenged to play through the lead or bass guitar portions of rock songs by matching colored notes that scroll on screen towards the player in time with physical actions to score points and keep the virtual crowd pleased. While the console versions of Guitar Hero use a separate guitar-shaped peripheral, Vicarious Visions developed a "Guitar Grip" unit that slips into the Game Boy Advance port on the DS or the DS Lite to be used with the games; at the present time, the Grip is incompatible with the Nintendo DSi. The Guitar Grip provides a strap to hold the game unit while providing the player with four fret buttons; the player uses the fret buttons in combination with using the stylus to simulate strumming on the touch-sensitive screen of the DS. Each game features more than 25 songs, with some variation in track lists depending on the region of release, and multiple single-player modes. The local wi-fi capabilities of the DS are used for multiplayer mode, and allow a player to use songs from one installment of the series in competitive modes with a player with a different installment.

Guitar Hero World Tour

Guitar Hero World Tour (initially referred to as Guitar Hero IV) is a music video game developed by Neversoft and published by RedOctane and Activision. It is the fourth main entry in the Guitar Hero series. The game was launched in North America in October 2008 for the PlayStation 2, PlayStation 3, Wii, and Xbox 360 consoles, and a month later for Europe and Australia. A version of World Tour for Microsoft Windows and Apple Macintosh has been also been announced for a release in Q3 2009.[1][2][6]

While the game continues to feature the use of a guitar-shaped controller to simulate the playing of rock music, Guitar Hero World Tour is the first game in the Guitar Hero series to feature drum and microphone controllers for percussion and vocal parts, similar in manner to the competing Rock Band series of games. The game allows users to create new songs through the "Music Studio" mode, which can then be uploaded and shared through a service known as "GHTunes".

World Tour received generally positive reviews with critics responding positively to the quality of the instrument controllers, the customization abilities, and improvements in the game's difficulty compared with the previous Guitar Hero III: Legends of Rock. However, some reviewers have commented on issues with poorly laid-out note tracks, the limited Career modes, and the difficulty of the music creation tool and the poor quality of the resulting songs.

Guitar Hero Metallica

Guitar Hero: Metallica is a music video game developed by Neversoft and distributed by Activision. The game was released in North America on the PlayStation 3, Wii, and Xbox 360 on March 29, 2009 and on PlayStation 2 on April 14, 2009, with a European release expected in May 2009. Guitar Hero: Metallica is the second game of the Guitar Hero series to focus on the career and songs of one band following Guitar Hero: Aerosmith.

The game is based on Guitar Hero World Tour, with support for lead and bass guitar, drums, and vocals. The game has many of the same features from World Tour, including single-player and band Career modes, online competitive modes, and the ability to create and share songs through "GHTunes". In addition to the normal difficulty levels presented in Guitar Hero World Tour, Guitar Hero: Metallica provides an "Expert+" difficulty for drums that requires the use of a second bass drum pedal to match the drumming style of Metallica's Lars Ulrich. The game features 28 master recordings spanning Metallica's career and an additional 21 songs selected by members of Metallica. The band performed extensive motion capture for the game for their in-game avatars and performances. The game includes several extras including behind-the-scenes videos of the motion capture sessions, tour and concert videos of the band, and Pop-Up Video-like facts for many of the songs on the game disc.

Guitar Hero: Metallica received positive reviews, with critics stating it to be a strong tribute to the band and Neversoft's best work on the Guitar Hero series to date. The difficulty throughout the game was praised, found to be more enjoyable to players of all skill levels than the more-difficult Guitar Hero III: Legends of Rock. Reviewers noted the lack of additional downloadable content, save for the pre-existing Death Magnetic songs, the cartoonish storyline for the Career mode, and the overall value of the game as some of the negatives to the experience.

Guitar Hero Smash Hits

"Featuring 48 master tracks from Guitar Hero, Guitar Hero II, Guitar Hero Encore: Rocks the 80s and Guitar Hero III: Legends of Rock, Guitar Hero Smash Hits includes some of the most famous Guitar Hero songs playable with guitar only for the first time as a full band."

So basically they’ve taken content which you already own and instead of giving you a way to import it into the newer version of the game so you can play it as a whole band, they’re selling you an entirely new game. What a great idea! It’s like paying twice for the same stuff and, wait, that’s a terrible idea from the gamer’s perspective. It truly is like printing money with the Guitar Hero logo on it sometimes.

So why not make the tracks available for the newer versions of the game instead of creating an entirely new game? Well I can see that there might have been some licensing issues. The songs were probably originally licensed for a guitar-only game. Now they need to pay the music industry more money for full band capabilities. That’s one possibility, and it’s a logical assumption considering that the music industry was up in arms about not being paid enough for the music. The music that the artists create, that Activision used and that the recording labels....labeled.

So maybe it’s not Activision’s fault. I’ve contacted them to get some information about their approach to the matter. I’ve nabbed the game’s box shots and here are a few select screens that have been released.

Jumpstyle shuffle

What is Jumpstyle ?
Jumpstyle is a high-energy dance mainly practiced in Europe, specifically the Netherlands, Belgium, and northern France. The dance is also called Jumpen (English word Jump + the Dutch en which means "to jump" or "jumps"). Jumpstyle also refers to a style of music that Jumpstyle can be performed to.

Where did Jumpstyle originate ?
According to the website Jumpstyle Startpagina, the dance originated in 1997 Belgium. Jumpstyle is an off-shoot of the Gabber music and dance scene. The dance style performed to Gabber is called Hakken or Gabbering. Check out the Tutorials page to see what Hakken looks like.

How did Jumpstyle performed ?
Jumpstyle is performed through a series of steps, jumps, kicks, stomps, torso positioning, and arm swings. On appearance, Jumpstyle does not look hard to do, However, execution is quite difficult. Jumpstyle is hard because it is very cardio-intensive.

What kind of music do you perform Jumpstyle to ?
There are so many genres and sub-genres to electronic music, that pinpointing specific styles is difficult. In a few broad categories, Jumpstyle is typically performed to Hardstyle, Jumpstyle, and Hardcore (electronic) music. You can pretty much dance to any electronic music with a single or double bassdrum beat. I know there are purists out there that prefer one music style to Jump to over the other, but if you dance well and the song is good, who cares what genre it is!

Why do Jumpstyle ?
Jumpstyle is energy. Jumpstyle is fun. Jumpstyle is performed to pounding bassdrum music. Good enough.

PHD

PHD - Pure Hard Dance was founded & is run by Directors Brendan & Jill SOUL-T & began in Melbourne CBD July 2002 as a weekly Saturday Day Party. PHD is now a weekly Melbourne Saturday Night Party @ Inflation Nightclub Geddes Lane CBD & has always been the biggest & best part of the Melbourne rave scene. PHD is also a successful merchandise brand all over the world.

Beginning at the Sugar Suite, a small bar in Melbourne's CBD in July 2002, PHD quickly out grew this venue & moved to Altitude, also in Melbourne's CBD. Altitude was a much bigger & better suited venue which was at capacity every week. Almost 2 years later, PHD was on the move again. We had also out grown Altitude. Our stay at F Four was very short lived, one week in fact. The crowd that gathered to F Four was too big for surrounding shop front businesses which had forced PHD to move yet again. Full of supporting die hard PHD fans, Scubar became a temporary option the following 3 weeks & was still. July 30 was the beginning of The Inflation Era & a long standing relationship. PHD is now very comfortably at home at Inflation who has made it a much better option for atmosphere, sound & production. There has never been a club in Melbourne Club history with so many passionate supporters & the capacity to fill different venues week to week at only a moments notice.
Hundreds of people have travelled near & far to show their support for PHD, what it stands for & what it means to them. Some people have even tattooed the PHD logo permanently on their bodies to remind them of the best days of their lives @ PHD.
PHD has given back to the supporters who travel many miles by touring a selection of regional country areas, Interstate & Internationally. PHD has been to Malaysia, Geelong, Sheparton, Traralgon, Sydney, Brisbane & Adelaide with forthcoming coming tours to Perth, Tasmania, Singapore & many more TBA.
PHD has also holds a number of very successful PHD branded annual parties; Pyjama Party, Slumber Party, PHD Birthday Parties & Beautiful Day NYD. All of these parties have the reputation for quality music, DJs & stage productions like no other & has established respect & a guaranteed capacity crowd @ the Hi Fi Bar. PHD has also hosted rooms @ other large scale parties.
PHD is not only a club & brand name, it's a very big family orientated based group doing it for all the right reasons. PHD is & always will be unparalleled by any other club brand in the scene & still continues to gather interest & support from many other event organizations locally, nationally & internationally, punters & DJs alike & has established some what of a cult following & is renowned for it's quality of production, DJs, music, atmosphere & people making it one of the biggest & best club brands Melbourne has ever seen.
PHD also has a popular & informative web site; www.pureharddance.com that includes everything you need to know both past & present including a weekly updated line up of DJs, an about PHD section, a DJ profile section, a merchandise section, a photo gallery, a links section & a forum.

The huge range of PHD merchandise has become rave uniform & has also been as successful as the club brand. There is not one rave or dance event where PHD merchandise is not present. In fact touring DJs will tell you it is also in most countries they have played.
In July 2008, PHD opened it’s very own Digital Recording Label; PHD Pure Hard Dance Digital Recordings.

Great News ...

Hardstyle Shuffle

Hardstyle Republic was previously known as Hardsequence back in 2006 until February 2007 and later changed their group name to Hardstyle Republic after confusion caused with Hardsequence itself as it is also an event’s name. They were also flamed and mocked by the Negative Minded Melbourne Shufflers for calling themselves as the event’s representative and all the negative comments.

It served them right for mocking the group because after they changed their name to Hardstyle Republic, it sounds even cooler and they had eventually got very famous after that. They were champion in a enormous International Dance Festival organized by Time Square KL and by using their new name, Hardstyle Republic. The group has now expend to Sabah, Spain, Australia, California, Brazil, and even Netherland

Do you still remember Joe Flizzow ???

Joe Flizzow aka The President, born in Kuala Lumpur on 16 October 1979, Malaysia's International Hip Hop Ambassador, one half of the internationally renowned Malaysian hip hop duo, Too Phat - the first Malaysian Hip Hop act to impact upon the Malaysian music scene, founder and CEO of Kartel Records.

As Too Phat, their multi-platinum albums have won numerous awards locally as well as achieving recognitions from MTV Asia and Channel V. Asian collaborations with pop acts from Singapore, Thailand, Philippines, Taiwan, Hong Kong, Indonesia, Australia, Sweden, Canada and United States have allowed for an all access pass in Asia. Regional appearances and performances are reflective in their album sales with over half a million records sold to date. As Malaysia's ambassador of Hip Hop few are not aware of Joe Flizzow's contribution especially with credentials that list international artists like Linkin Park, Black Eyed Peas and Kanye West as the few he's performed for.

As an individual Joe Flizzow arguably the nicest Malaysian MC to ever grip a mic, is a talented writer, lyricist and producer. Forever pushing his boundaries and artistry into new areas and development; a pattern familiar since the late 90's, where he revolutionised the Malaysian underground Hip Hip scene and forced the music industry to recognise it as a serious music genre. Hip Hop had arrived in Malaysia.

Strong in beliefs and culture, Joe Flizzow proudly wears 'KL' on his head - introducing yet another nation pride - The KL cap, originally a Too Phat merchandise that was launched in 2005 and now produced and distributed wholly under his own clothing label State Of Mine Caps, Kartel Clothing.

After 10 years as member of Too Phat, Flizzow is now carving a career as a solo artist with his first album, President (2008).
